CT Segments 17-16

Day 1:

  • Walked from Highway 114 to the Colorado Trail Foundation trail crew base camp at Lujan Pass.

  • Met lots of good people.

  • Ate home-made pizza and brownies for dinner.

  • Juggling!

  • Matthew was given the trail name “Card Sharp” after a raucous Uno game with trail crew members that ran late into the night.

Day 2:

  • Left camp with a heavy heart and an even heavier stomach (Thanks Bill and Stephanie!).

  • Sat in the wildflowers at Razor Creek.

  • Passed uncomfortably close to a huge bull.

  • Camped on a nice ridge above Tank Seven Creek.

Day 3:

  • Easy hike from camp to Marshall Pass.

  • Appreciated the new Windy Peak re-route.

  • Met more parent/kid combos near Marshall Pass. Very cool.

  • Saw bighorn lambs.

  • Took advantage of trail magic at Marshall Pass.
