We try to time our visits for the cool dry weather of November, when possible coordinating with Day of the Dead. When Matthew was younger it was tough extracting him from Colorado during Halloween, but now he is on board with the more exciting Guatemalan holiday.
The cemetery in Chichicastenango was bright and beautiful on November 1st.
We spent the week visiting Pura Vida projects and staff. Home visits were the most inspiring part of the trip, including one family with 3 siblings studying nursing.
